Since February 2015 we have raised more than $6100 for Sponsor a Teacher thanks to the amazing support of our donors.
This program supports the income of three Cambodian teachers – Daro, Vibol & Oudom (Daro & Vibol have come through the SCAO II School themselves)
These teachers are working hard to put themselves through university by teaching Computer and English classes to the kids in Som Roung village.
Daro, 20, lives in Som Roung and is currently completing an English course in Phnom Penh.
Outside the school, Daro likes to help his parents and looks after their ten cows which need to graze on the rice fields every day. His aim for the future is to develop the poor areas in his country and to provide more education for children.
Dong Vibol, 24, lives in Som Roung Village and studied Economics of Development in Phnom Penh. Vibol has been a student at SCAO himself and attended classes the moment the school opened.
In the future Vibol is determined to help develop the poor areas of his country.
Yen Oudom, 23, lives in Som Roung Village. He studied IT in Phnom Penh and graduated in 2015. Oudom is happy to share his knowledge about computers, English and Khmer language. In the evenings he devotes time to teach Khmer to volunteers.
In the future, Oudom wants to run his own business and become an IT Manager.
